Maintaining the health of your mouth is essential for healthy and strong teeth in the future. One of the best ways you can care for your teeth is ensuring you have a toothbrush that is working correctly. Our team is going to show you some ways you can maintain the condition of your toothbrush ensuring proper cleaning methods.

By rinsing your toothbrush after brushing, you are helping remove any remaining toothpaste, food or salvia that tends to linger after brushing your teeth. After rinsing your toothbrush, place it in an upright position, allowing it to air-dry until next time.

If your toothbrush shares a location with other toothbrushes, prevent it from touching the others. By doing so, you are preventing cross-contamination between brushes.

Never lend your toothbrush to someone or use another toothbrush that isn’t yours. This can expose you or another person to harmful body fluids and germs that could make either of you sick.

Try and avoid storing your toothbrush in a closed container, this creates a moist environment for bacteria to grow. Instead, leave it out in open air to dry.

Replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months. If you use an electric brush, replace the bristles of your toothbrush around the same time. When bristles are worn down and frayed they become less effective in removing plaque from your teeth and gums.
